Performing Arts
Welcome to the Music Department
The Music Department at Chavez Collegiate High School is structured to meet the needs of all students and provides opportunities to participate in a variety of outstanding music programs.
Students who play band instruments may participate in the Titan Marching Band, Indoor Percussion, and various instrumental ensembles. In the vocal area, students can participate in Chamber Choir and a variety of vocal ensembles that showcase their talents through performances throughout the year.
All of the above-mentioned groups are active in performances and school events, providing students with meaningful opportunities to develop their musical skills, leadership abilities, and teamwork.
Chavez Collegiate High School's award-winning Titan Band, Colorguard, and Indoor Percussion programs have established a rich tradition of excellence in music performance. These programs offer students exciting opportunities to participate in both performance and competitive events. The foundation of their success is the dedication, responsibility, hard work, and motivation demonstrated by our student musicians and performers.
The Titan Band and Indoor Percussion programs are directed by Mr. Alex Gonzales, whose leadership continues to inspire students to achieve excellence both on and off the performance stage.
Please contact Mr. "G" at agonzales@djuhsd.org if you have any questions.
